PRIVATE PAY · SPECIALIZED CARE

This work is specific.

So is the investment.

Singles therapy, dating trauma, and relationship clarity work isn't generalist care — it's a specialty. What you're paying for is nearly two decades of experience, four state licenses, and a practice built around exactly what you're going through. No copay codes, no insurance company deciding how long you need care.

What therapy costs.

YOUR RECORD STAYS YOURS

No diagnosis required. No insurance company in the room.

When you pay out of pocket, there's no diagnosis code filed with an insurance company, no claim on record, no third party reviewing what we talk about or how long you need care. For clients who hold a security clearance, work in government, or simply want their mental health care to stay private from an employer or an insurer — this isn't a side benefit of private pay. It's often the main reason people choose it.

Insurance companies decide what "medically necessary" means, how many sessions you get, and what's written in your permanent record. Private pay means the work stays between us — no diagnosis required for coverage, no session caps, no one else deciding what your care looks like.

It also means this stays a specialty practice. I can spend 90 minutes with a couple, hold space for the specific weight of dating trauma, and build a plan around your situation — not around what a panel will reimburse.

WHY PRIVATE PAY?

INSURANCE COMPLEXITY

A limited number of sliding-scale spots are held for clients for whom cost is a genuine barrier — this isn't tied to insurance or income verification, it's a conversation, decided case by case, directly with me. If the rate above is what's stopping you from reaching out, reach out anyway. We'll talk it through before you book anything.

Cost should not be the reason you do not start.

LIMITED AVAILABILITY

REDUCE WHAT YOU PAY

HSA and FSA accounts are accepted — and they lower your real cost.

If you have a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account, therapy sessions are an eligible expense. Using pre-tax dollars reduces what you actually pay by 20–30%. Ask us about this before your first session.

HSA — Health Savings Account

Paired with a high-deductible health plan. Funds roll over year to year. Accepted for all sessions.

Real cost example

$200 session paid with HSA at 25% tax rate = effective cost of $150. Same therapy, less out of pocket.

FSA — Flexible Spending Account

Pre-tax dollars through your employer. Accepted for all sessions. Check your plan year deadlines.

How to use it

Pay with your HSA or FSA card at time of service. Let us know at intake and we'll format receipts correctly.

YOUR RIGHTS

Good Faith Estimate

Notice to uninsured clients — No Surprises Act

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care before your first session. You will receive yours before your intake.

If you are billed more than $400 above the estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill. Contact us directly with any questions about your estimate.

Still have questions?

Reach out before you book. We will verify your insurance and make sure there are no surprises before your first session.
